Designer Shoes: To Buy or Not to Buy?

“He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not”

Being a shoe addict, I have been guilty of growing my shoe collection over the years. From Louboutin’s to Valentino’s, we see these beauties all over social media and it can be hard to ignore wanting a pair. However, I have a love hate relationship with my designer shoes. There is no denying these shoes are gorgeous, but are they worth it?! The million dollar question…

“Beauty is Pain”

Any women that loves fashion has heard this phrase, and it’s pretty spot on when it comes to designer heels. Although they might be the prettiest shoes I own, comfort was defiantly not the reason behind buying them. Some are better than others, but when it comes to making an investment I would say weigh out all your pros and cons.

  1. Are you buying them for a special occasion?

  2. How often will you wear them?

  3. Have they been on your wishlist for awhile?

When I was younger, my style was very different and I splurged on heels that I imagined wearing all the time. There are some like my Valentino’s that I will keep forever and others like my Louboutin’s I probably could’ve lived without. If you’re thinking about investing in a pair of these amazing shoes, think about what they mean to you and why you really want them, because chances are you might not get a lot of use out of them. If I could go back, I probably would've invested in something like handbags instead, because those are statement pieces you can always wear. Shoes are tricky because 9 out of 10, they aren’t the most comfortable and like I said your style changes over time. Designer shoes are an investment, so if you can’t live without a pair, find a CLASSIC style and get them in black or nude so they are versatile with all outfits. If the price point is still out of your budget, it is okay to buy them used. There are some amazing consignment websites that offer practically brand new pieces for almost half the retail price! Below are my favorite sites!
